Mark Wesker - President, CEO
Mark brings more than 15 years of experience in the software industry to Artifact. As the co-founder of Sequoia Software in 1992, Mark served as President and Chief Operating Officer from inception, through its IPO (SQSW), and until it was acquired by Citrix Systems, Inc. in May 2001. During his tenure, Mark directed Sequoia's operations from corporate financing; product development; sales, marketing and business development, through service and support.
Mark helped lead the sale of Sequoia to Citrix (CTXS) in May 2001 for $185M. Following the acquisition, Mark served as Citrix's Vice President of Internet Strategy and as a member of Citrix's executive management team.
Mark co-founded Artifact in 2004, and serves as the Company's President, CEO, and Chairman. Mark is also an investor in the Company.
Mark has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Baltimore Technology Council, and formerly serviced as Chairman of the Technology Council's Board. Mark practiced law in MD for 6 years with Miles & Stockbridge prior to founding Sequoia.
Mark is married and has two daughters. He holds Bachelor of Arts degree from the George Washington University and a Jurist Doctor from the University of Baltimore.
Paul Martin - Chief Technology Officer
Paul co-founded Artifact, and has more than 12 years of product development and technology leadership experience. He is responsible for technology strategy and product development, and works closely with customers to evaluate market requirements and how Lighthouse can best meet them. The Lighthouse solution grew out of Paul's challenges managing a global development team at Citrix Systems.
At Citrix, Paul served as VP & Chief Architect of Web Products. Paul architected NFuse Elite, the first simple, secure, out-of-the-box corporate portal. He also architected products for the small to mid-sized market and oversaw Citrix's worldwide, distributed development efforts.
Prior to Citrix, Paul was VP of Development and CTO at Sequoia Software, a leading portal software company. Paul led Sequoia's product development, services, and support teams. He also architected the first XML portal server, Sequoia XPS, an innovative product known for its flexibility and extensibility. Paul holds two patents related to Sequoia XPS.
Paul's past experience includes being responsible for the design, development, and delivery for the Navy's DCAMS (Damage Control Asset Management Software) while at Lead Engineer at PDI Corp. Paul holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Doug D'Argenio - SVP, Corporate Development
Doug comes to Artifact with 20 years of experience delivering tangible business value through the application of leading edge software solutions. Doug is responsible for Artifact’s business development, market development, and corporate development initiatives. This includes strategic alliances, corporate partnerships, corporate strategy, and market definition.
Prior to Artifact, Doug served as VP of Enterprise Solutions at Number Six Software culminating in its acquisition by Advanced Technology Systems. Doug was responsible for ATS’ business development activities as well as ATS’ commercial products division.
At SteelTrace, Doug served as VP of Business Development responsible for all strategic alliances and corporate partnerships. SteelTrace marketed a requirements definition and management platform and was acquired by Compuware Corporation who now offers that solution under the name OptimalTrace.
Prior to SteelTrace, Doug founded and served as CEO of Chiara Corporation, a consulting company offering technology transition of software development best practices. Chiara’s customers included the Fortune 1000 as well as federal, state and local government organizations.
Doug worked in various capacities at Rational Software Corporation over a 12 year period. Doug began his career at Rational as a technical consultant helping customers adopt state-of the-practice software development processes and methodologies. He then moved into a strategic account management role driving customer success using Rational’s technologies and exceeding revenue goals for both product and services every year. Doug’s final position at Rational was Director of Strategic Alliances in which he was responsible for Rational’s corporate partnerships with the industry’s largest services companies. Rational Software was acquired by IBM.
Doug earned his BS in Computer Engineering from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Doug is married with four children.
