Mark Grovic - Managing Director, New Markets Growth Fund
Mark is Managing Director of the New Markets Growth Fund (NMGF), and serves as the Deputy Director of the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business.
Prior to joining NMGF, Mark was Portfolio Manager of Small Enterprise Assistance Funds (SEAF), managing $150 million in small business equity investment funds. From 1996-97, Mark was Co-Founder of the Templeton Emerging Europe Fund, a $60 million Central European private equity fund. From 1993-95, Mark was the Associate Portfolio Manager of Private Equities at the Calvert Group, a $5 billion socially responsible mutual fund. Mark lived and worked in Romania and Estonia through the 1990s, and speaks frequently on international business.
Mark earned his BS in international politics the University of California, Berkeley, and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University. Mark serves on the Boards of Artifact, Bioset and Lightningcast, and on the Investment Committee for the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO).
